In his role as Senior Vice President of Payer Contracting, Ron brings extensive healthcare experience, managed care expertise, and a history of negotiating effective contracts between providers and health plans. Before joining Avanza + MedHQ, he founded Fulcrum Strategies in 2004; a consulting firm focused on helping physicians and hospitals improve managed care contracts. His background includes senior leadership roles with Kaiser Permanente, CIGNA Healthcare, and BlueCross BlueShield, where he helped develop provider networks, improve health plan performance, and lead managed care operations. Ron is also an accomplished author and speaker, having published two books on healthcare reform and presented to physician and industry audiences more than 100 times.
