Our payroll systems and solutions automate all of your payroll-related back-office responsibilities. Beginning with the first imperative of being an employer, MedHQ ensures that you “get every paycheck right.” That means everything is recorded properly, and that each employee is receiving his or her due salary and benefits compensation.

Long-Term Staffing

Ambulatory surgery center (ASC) customers engage MedHQ to provide long-term staffing services related to the day-to-day operations of the customer’s facility. MedHQ supplies the employees to perform supervisory, administrative and support services necessary for the day-to-day operation of the Facility.

MedHQ employees perform the duties and functions assigned in accordance with the policies, directives, and regulations adopted by the Board of Managers of customer facility.

MedHQ is the employer of Staff for all lawful purposes. As such, MedHQ has the authority to hire, terminate, discipline, schedule, and determine the wages and benefits of Staff. The customer (surgery center board) has the right to define staffing levels, budget, and appointment of administrative/management personnel consistent with healthcare licensing requirements.

Any and all activities constituting the practice of medicine, as that term is defined under any applicable law, remain under the exclusive supervision and control of a licensed physician.

MedHQ and its onsite employees are responsible for the following:

  • Recruiting, hiring, and assigning its employees to perform onsite services for Client, as MedHQ and Client mutually agree.
  • Paying earned wages.
  • Employee benefits.
  • Payroll taxes and unemployment insurance.
  • Workers compensation insurance.
  • Work site safety inspection.

Onsite Services

MedHQ works with corporate partners, healthcare consultants, physicians and hospital systems to offer onsite solutions for ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs); including business management, clinical, technician, and administrative support services related to the day-to-day operations of a client’s ASC facility. MedHQ will perform such services utilizing MedHQ’s employees (Staff). The client’s Board of Managers defines the policies, directives, and regulations that govern the operation of the facility, and MedHQ’s employees implement them.

Onsite Services are not Employee Leasing or Professional Employer Organization arrangements.

MedHQ consultants and other professionals at our corporate office may perform such other consulting and/or administrative duties from time to time, as requested and agreed.

Any and all activities constituting the practice of medicine, as that term is defined under any applicable law, remain under the exclusive supervision and control of a licensed physician.

MedHQ’s human capital management (HCM) software solutions allow for online, electronic storage and management of employee file information, check stubs, tax documents and other administrative forms can be accessed with just a few clicks. In addition, this secure and powerful software solution streamlines the dozens of HR process all employers must track for recordkeeping and compliance purposes. For example: automated timekeeping with payroll integration, online employee record-keeping, automated time and attendance, online employee benefits management and online training.

Included in the array of contractual arrangements that MedHQ offers are professional employer organization (PEO) services, in which the PEO company and the customer “co-employ” the staff working at the customer’s location. ASCs, physician practices, surgical hospitals, and healthcare-affiliated businesses of all types engage MedHQ’s PEO services delivered by its wholly-owned subsidiary, PEO HQ, LLC.”

As the PEO industry has evolved over the past 30+ years, various state and federal governmental bodies have have established regulations to ensure that the interests of the public are given due diligence and oversight. MedHQ fully supports these efforts and has done so since nearly its inception (we have been proud members of NAPEO since 2004, which has for years advocated for proper regulation).

Typically, various state laws define a PEO relationship as one where both the PEO company and the customer “co-employ” the staff at the customer’s location. Further, the employer functions are “allocated” between the PEO and the customer in a client services agreement (CSA) established by the PEO and the customer. MedHQ’s subsidiary, PEO HQ, LLC, is specifically organized to offer professional employer organization services exclusively in states in which we have obtained and maintained appropriate registration, licensing and credentialing.
